SUPER GROUP

THE COCHRANEANS - HERE WE COME!

First thing first, many thanks to Yee Kar Fong and Yau Hing Low - both attended our recent Reunion Gathering in May 2013 at Armada Hotel, Asia Jaya. They played a key role in providing us with the opportunity to merge. Also worthy of special thanks is Ho Khai Hong in providing his group list (generously) to make up this Super Group! It's a "Dream Come True" for all of us COCHRANEANS. Let's Rock-n-Roll guys and gals.

When replying please indicate the Form-year you belong, and if you're attending, please indicate the number e.g Y2 means you are attending with your partner and Y3 means three are coming and so forth. It would be good also to have your mobile contact number just in case.

Alternatively, you may want to register on GooglePlus your expression of interest of the coming event by following the link: https://plus.google.com/events then click on the caption heading "CRS REUNION 9th February 2014" to open up a more detailed page. Don't worry if you have registered your interest both here and in GooglePlus as I will not double up on the count in my Master List.

    For those attending with spouse please let us have your spouse name to comply with mandatory security requirements from the Management Board at the venue to avoid any embarrassment at the gate.

    A note to update everyone on my meeting with Dr. Wu with regards to the venue and menu. The following are what we discussed.

    1. Dr. Wu is having a gathering at the same venue for his condo's residents association members and a menu been selected. Dr. Wu suggested that he will discuss with the caterer to make some changes to the food items for our function which I had agreed. The price will be capped at RM30.00 per head.
    2. The venue (poolside) has a cafeteria that can hold all of us in the event that it should rain. So our concern about Plan B is taken care of.
    3. Dr. Wu managed to rope in a four more friends and therefore the final count should in the region of 64. So Dr. Wu suggested that we get the caterer to cater for 60 pax and it should be enough food for even up to 65-70. By so doing, it is also easier to manage the total costs, should some back out last minute.
    4. I think we need to collect 10% more to buffer for last minute dropouts and the teachers' costs. If there is any balance of funds, we can keep it in the kitty for next function. What say you guys?
    5. Dr. Wu has given me the direction to his condo which I will post it in the blog asap.

    Important things to note for the (so called ) local organizers - class of 68 group:
    1. We need to appoint 2-3 members to register participants, collect money on the spot, issue name tags (like what we did in the Hotel Armada's event). If you guys don't mind, can I suggest that David, Frankie and Marvin share out this three responsibilities? We need to confirm this asap. Can you guys please respond whether you are prepared to take up the responsibility? If yes, then among three of you, one will have to volunteer to buy the name tag stickers and marker pens?

    I volunteer to write the name tag provided someone else get the stickers and marker pen. The reason is that I have specific format to show name and Form-Year. The second reason is that there are some work to do (house-keeping) on the Master Database and I thought this will provide an excellent opportunity to ensure data integrity is at its highest level by first contact at the Event.

    I hope there are other volunteers to assist because I will also be busy taking photographs... you know lah..
