NEW VENUE - FINALISED

HOORAY!! WE HAVE A FINAL OUTCOME - DR. WU AND CHONG HENG'S POOLSIDE BUFFET IT SHALL BE.

FINAL VENUE
Section 16, address is PRIMA 16 CHAPTER 2, JALAN 16/18, PETALING JAYA (behind Hotel Eatin)

We cannot ask for a better outcome - and with a RECORD TURN-UP THIS YEAR - of course with the proviso of a 100% attendance.

The Attendees List final count is 48 pax and you may go to the topic-thread “SUPER GROUP” to view the names of those attending (sorted  alphabetically):

DECISION PASSAGE
Marvin Boey wrote:
"I just noticed your mail on the confirmed attendees which stands at 47. If this is the final figure, then I'm afraid it's too small a group to hold a Private Gathering in DJ Club as the optimum figure is 70 to make it viable. Bilique would be a better choice with max 120 seating but they do not open on Sundays. Commonwealth House is also good for 120 pax. If the final count could be around 70 then I believe the best venue would be DJ Club as I can get the price reduced to RM5,000/- for food( buffet) and drinks inclusive beers/wine. This will work out to be approx. RM70/-  each but which also exceeds the RM 50/- per pax.

With this development, I think its best to revert to your original plans since they are all already so far ahead."

Danny Hew replied:
Hi Marvin,

"Thank you for your early reply - much appreciated.
Now that we have a quick resolution here I'm very happy to move forward with Dr. Wu and Chong Heng's plan of a Poolside Buffet.

To John Chow:
Without further ado, can you please go ahead (per your earlier email) to liaise with Dr. Wu for the necessary arrangements."

SPECIAL MENU
Please pass on Dato Dr. Tharmaseelan Sinnadorai's requirement of a vegetarian menu as well as Faizal Lim's halal food requirements - thanks bro.

Also, please remember to raise our concern about whether or not there is any PLAN B in the event of bad weather.

Cheers to ALL,
Danny Hew

IMPORTANT:
1. If you’re attending I ask that you make sure your name is in the list otherwise let me or John Chow know if you find any discrepancies.

2. To all attendees, please let us know if you have special menu request (vegetarian or halal only) and direct it to John Chow at chowjcc@gmail.com who will co-ordinate with Dr. Wu and his team

P/S: This topic-thread was formerly named "NEW VENUE TO DECIDE" - but now called "NEW VENUE - FINALISED".

Thank you and see you ALL at the Poolside Buffet.

Best regards,
Danny Hew

CRS NOTICEBOARD

ITEM #1:

ADMINISTRIVIA - NOTICEBOARD and TOPIC-THREADS AS COMMUNICATION FRAMEWORK

Dear SUPER GROUP,

If you want to trace earlier emails to get up to speed with what’s going on in order to fathom the “big picture” it’s rather difficult and cumbersome to follow the sequential flow of emails – particularly so for newcomers. This has prompted me to implement a communication framework to improve communication channels within group members to make life easier for everyone (fingers crossed). These channels are in fact your communication threads and there are basically two types - Noticeboard and Topic-Threads. Once these passed their “used-by” dates I shall culled them to free memory space for other matters arising (remember: the blog-site is free but comes with a limitation imposed on the memory space allocation).

1. NOTICEBOARD AND TOPIC-THREADS:
Each of these two has its purpose. The Noticeboard-Thread is used to pin up information of a more permanent nature rather than a passing topic with a shorter life-span. And each posting to the Noticeboard will be itemized sequentially.  Information relating to the latter will be your Topic-Threads.
This email sets out to lay the foundation for how to navigate and use these communication channels moving forward and therefore it will be published in the Noticeboard-Thread. A newcomer can quickly feel his/her way around by first going to this Noticeboard to understand how the communication structure works. Topic-Threads are used to facilitate discussions whereby a consensus has to be reached eventually in order to move on. For example, we need to decide on a new venue now because the Attendees List has exceeded the agreed cut-off threshold of 40 pax – see below for more.

2. MOVING FORWARD:
Henceforth, I will send out an email with a brief content of topic matters arising (similar to an “exposure draft” in a profession industry) and provide a link to the relevant Noticeboard or Topic-Thread. A commentary box will allow you to post your input (feedbacks) and so you all can share your thoughts in one common place rather than trying to catch new shoots sprouting from various stages of a multitude of email-threads. This conceptual framework is designed to be a traffic (emails) dispersal scheme and hopefully it helps with your acceptance and support.

3. BUSINESS AS USUAL:
Today I will create one Noticeboard-Thread and three Topic-Threads on the CRS Blog-site with the following captions:

      3.1      CRS Noticeboard
2    3.2   New Venue To Decide
3    3.3       Forming Super Nova Group
4    3.4       Teachers to Contact

PLEASE HAVE YOUR SAY IN THE RELEVANT TOPIC-THREAD OTHERWISE THE COMMUNICATION FRAMEWORK WILL FAIL.

I did consider creating a FB Page to be used like in a web-based forum – but that has its pros and cons. For now, I think that the framework would suffice and perhaps one day we may have to cross the bridge when we get there.

4. CRS NEWS:
This morning, I started my exploratory probe into the FB world and discovered a super nova “COCHRANEANS GROUP with 1421 members”!

Images of CRS School Premises:

BUT before you unleash your imaginations please spare some time reviewing their pages first and then assemble your thoughts.

Here’s the question:  do we try to merge with them or remain – what do you all think? Please go to the “Forming Super Nova” thread above to have your say.

Enjoy your weekend (with what is left) and we’ll talk again soon.

Best regards
Danny Hew
